Number of Asia offices to reach 15 in 2019

(January 9, 2018, Beijing) Since its founding in 1962, the world’s leading luxury travel brand Abercrombie & Kent (hereinafter referred to as A&K) has remained true to its core mission of continuously enhancing the travel experience for its guests, now covering over 100 destinations worldwide. Recently, A&K continued to expand its global office network by establishing a new destination management office in Japan, bringing its total number of subsidiaries to 56 across more than 30 countries and regions, aiming to provide both domestic and international travelers with more premium travel options.

Zhidong Zhang, CEO of Abercrombie & Kent China, said: “Over the past two years, we have been delighted to see a growing number of Chinese clients seeking high-quality travel experiences in Japan, with rapid growth in demand for boutique small-group and private custom tours to Japan. To efficiently integrate top-tier local travel resources and maintain A&K’s globally consistent high service standards, A&K has established its 15th office in Asia in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, providing more thoughtful and personalized services tailored to each guest.”

Led by Hatsuko Tsujimura, General Manager for Japan with over a decade of experience in the luxury travel industry, the newly established Japan destination management office will be more adept at itinerary planning, resource integration, and customer service, offering comprehensive one-stop services for discerning travelers. The China office of A&K will also collaborate with the Japan office to create more travel products that cater to the needs of Chinese premium clients. A&K’s seasoned Japanese expert guides will leverage their extensive knowledge to enable guests to not only enjoy breathtaking natural landscapes but also deeply immerse themselves in Japanese history and culture, experiencing a uniquely refined way of travel. With A&K, guests may have the opportunity to learn about the heritage of the Japanese tea ceremony from an experienced tea master in a private garden in Kanazawa, a historic city in Japan; enjoy an exclusive private dinner in a 400-year-old traditional Japanese garden in Kyoto; or join a renowned Japanese cuisine master on a visit to Tsukiji Market, followed by hands-on cooking lessons under the master’s guidance to prepare traditional Japanese dishes.

Jonathan White, Executive President of Destination Management at A&K, said: “The establishment of our Japan office provides us with more opportunities to engage directly with the local people and culture, allowing us to better understand Japan, promote it, and thereby elevate our service standards to better serve travelers, continue earning industry recognition and acclaim, and remain worthy of being the gold standard in luxury travel.”
