On March 2, the 2019 Poly Shixiang Lake Tulip Tourism Festival and the "Floral Life Season" made their grand debut, kicking off a series of refreshing audiovisual feasts in the scenic flower seas.

The Poly·Shixiang Lake Scenic Area is located in Pujiang County, Chengdu, and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It boasts two major lakes, Miaoyin Lake and Shixiang Lake, with a forest coverage rate of over 90%.

As the star of this flower festival, tulips naturally take center stage. Planted in an outdoor, completely natural environment, vast expanses of high-quality, photogenic tulips form a sea of color. Distinctive woodland flower scenes and sloped flower fields create a pristine visual experience. Shixiang Lake was among the first scenic areas in China to introduce tulip bulbs from the Netherlands and engage in large-scale outdoor cultivation and display. Since hosting its first Tulip Festival in 2002, it has successfully held 18 consecutive editions. The Shixiang Lake Tulip Festival has long become an iconic feature of the area and a shining image calling card.

As mentioned earlier, the tulips at Shixiang Lake are not grown in greenhouses but thrive naturally outdoors. From grassy paths along the way to forest trails, elegant and beautiful tulips are scattered throughout. Currently in full bloom, there are over 200 varieties. Some tulip cultivars live up to their names in delightful and intriguing ways, such as "Loved by All," "Yang Fansi," "Parade," "Dynasty," "Queen of the Night," and "Crystal Beauty." Whether monochromatic or multicolored, bright or deep-toned, the tulip season is expected to last until early April.

Shixiang Lake offers more than just tulips; a variety of rare and stunning spring flowers can also dazzle your eyes. Daffodils, February orchids, Icelandic poppies, German irises, and snapdragons will bloom simultaneously or in succession from March to May.
