Last updated 2026-11-08 — From now until early May, Stone Elephant Lake Scenic Area will collaborate with the Chengdu Yoga Industry Association, the Chengdu Yoga Industry Alliance, and several nationally renowned yoga experts to jointly create a series of activities, including the Stone Elephant Lake Floral Life Family Yoga Class and Premium Yoga Classes.

In March, as all things begin anew, the tulips at Stone Elephant Lake also burst into vibrant life under the spring breeze. Nearly a thousand varieties and tens of millions of blooms cluster together, competing in a glorious display, heralding the arrival of one of the most beautiful seasons of the year at Stone Elephant Lake.

Listen to modern symphonic music amidst tulip fields, watch models strut their stuff among the flowers, admire yoga masters showcasing their skills, and enjoy folk music performances in the floral setting... On March 2, the 2019 Poly Stone Elephant Lake Tulip Tourism Festival and the “Floral Life Season” made their grand debut, ushering in a series of refreshing audiovisual feasts in the scenic flower seas.

A profusion of blossoms in full bloom — come and listen to the sound of flowers opening.

The Poly·Stone Elephant Lake Scenic Area is located in Pujiang County, Chengdu, and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It boasts two major lakes, Miaoyin Lake and Stone Elephant Lake, with a forest coverage rate of over 90%.

As the star of this year’s floral festival, tulips naturally take center stage. Planted in completely natural outdoor environments, vast expanses of high-quality, photogenic tulips stretch as far as the eye can see, forming colorful seas. Characteristic woodland flower scenes and sloped floral fields create an authentic, natural experience. Stone Elephant Lake was among the first in China to introduce tulip bulbs from the Netherlands and engage in large-scale outdoor cultivation and display. Since hosting its first Tulip Festival in 2002, it has successfully held 18 consecutive editions. The Stone Elephant Lake Tulip Festival has become both a defining feature of the scenic area and a shining image calling card.

As mentioned earlier, the tulips at Stone Elephant Lake are not grown in greenhouses but flourish naturally outdoors. From grassy paths along the way to wooded trails, elegant and beautiful tulips are scattered throughout. Currently in full bloom, there are more than 200 varieties. Some tulip cultivars live up to their names with delightful charm and curiosity — such as “Loved by All,” “Yang Fansi,” “Parade,” “Dynasty,” “Queen of the Night,” and “Crystal Beauty.” Whether monochromatic or multicolored, bright or richly hued, the tulip blooming period is expected to last until early April.

Stone Elephant Lake is not just about tulips — a variety of rare and splendid spring flowers can also dazzle your eyes. Daffodils, February orchids, Icelandic poppies, German irises, and snapdragons will bloom simultaneously or in succession between March and May.

Floral Life — A Brand-New Leisure Experience

Stone Elephant Lake offers more than just flower viewing. As a comprehensive tourist destination centered around forest, lake, and floral resources, while building upon its large-scale outdoor sightseeing offerings, it continues to enhance infrastructure, introduce new experiences, and enrich visitors’ “floral life” at Stone Elephant Lake.

At Stone Elephant Lake, you can go boating on the lake, camp in the flower fields, enjoy rustic fun (including luxury bubble tent glamping), engage in parent-child activities, appreciate floral art, or visit the Stone Elephant Zen Temple — Asia’s largest single Buddhist hall — for meditation and tranquility. For those seeking more active pursuits, options include jungle trekking, jungle slides, horseback riding, go-karting, and bumper cars. Stone Elephant Lake offers a perfect balance of activity and relaxation, with its diverse lifestyle experiences further elevating leisure and entertainment.

In the future, Stone Elephant Lake will integrate even more business formats, driving overall consumption and industrial upgrading, and providing visitors with richer, higher-quality tourism experiences.

Oxygen-Rich Yoga — Embrace a Healthy Lifestyle

As the pace of modern life accelerates, people increasingly yearn to return to nature.

Following the 2016 Stone Elephant Lake inaugural “Forest of Flowers and Buddha Realm” Forest Yoga and Meditation Retreat, and the 2017 Stone Elephant Lake Forest Million-Person Yoga Challenge, this year, Stone Elephant Lake once again seamlessly blends yoga elements with the area’s natural landscapes to create the “Floral Life” Family Yoga Class. This allows visitors to enjoy the pleasure of natural scenery while embracing an aerobic, healthy lifestyle.

From now until early May, the Stone Elephant Lake Scenic Area will team up with the Chengdu Yoga Industry Association, the Chengdu Yoga Industry Alliance, and several nationally known yoga influencers to jointly launch a series of events, including the Stone Elephant Lake “Floral Life Family Yoga Class” and “Premium Yoga Class.” Among them, the “Floral Life” Family Yoga Class officially kicks off on March 16, with plenty of attractive prizes awaiting those who love life and yoga.

In March, amid the riot of blooming flowers and the height of spring, we await you at Stone Elephant Lake — in the woods, flower seas, and by the lake — to return to nature, feel the unity of humanity and the natural world, and experience the beauty of yoga.

Registration details for the Stone Elephant Lake “Floral Life Family Yoga Class” and “Premium Yoga Class” can be found in the related event posts on the WeChat official accounts “Stone Elephant Lake” and “Travel Lifestyle Experts.”
