Exhibition | Functional “New” Innovations in Sports Products - ISPO Tour “Textile Future Exhibition”

From March 12 to 14, the “2019 Textile Future Exhibition,” organized by the Productivity Promotion Department of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and the China Textile Information Center, was successfully held at the China International Garment & Accessories Fair (CHIC) and the China International Textile Fabrics and Accessories (Spring/Summer) Fair (intertextile).

In collaboration with CHIC, ISPO brought award-winning products from the ISPO Global Design Awards to the Textile Future Exhibition, along with professional insights on future trends, fashion technology, color applications, and innovative materials, exploring together a new world of the textile industry’s future.

Making sports more fun and safer

“The purpose of the awards is to encourage innovative development in the field of sports, and also to leverage the ISPO platform to give more attention to these highly innovative functional sports products, making sports more fun and safer.” In the “Static Display” area, Ms. Dai Beihua, Project Director of ISPO, introduced to reporters that as one of the few globally authoritative product evaluations in the sports industry, the ISPO Award (ISPO Global Design Awards) aims to help the industry identify sports equipment that demonstrates breakthrough performance in product technology, design, and functionality for the coming year.

Ms. Dai Beihua also explained that at the “Textile Future Exhibition,” ISPO carefully selected 10 products from three major categories—winter sports, outdoor sports, and health & fitness—that won the “ISPO Global Design Awards” for display. She noted that, aside from their excellent functional performance, the displayed winter sports products also excelled in detail and fashion. Features included seamless knitting technology, detachable multi-functional designs, barrier-structured designs, spacious pocket spaces, and solutions to prevent “hypothermia.”Highlights such as all-around barrier-free sports design were also showcased.In addition, two health & fitness products—the smart coat by Chinese brand 361° and the sports jacket by Swiss sports brand X-Bionic—met the needs for fast and long-lasting warmth in cold environments and provided runners with an optimal experience thanks to seamless designs and beetle-fold series features, respectively. “Through the ISPO Award selection and the exhibited items we chose, we can see thatfunctionality, sustainability, and personalized customization are key trends in textile sports products in recent years.”Dai Beihua emphasized.

At this “Textile Future Exhibition,” ISPO selected 10 products that won the “ISPO Global Design Awards” across three categories—winter sports, outdoor sports, and health & fitness—as well as 8 partially nominated brand products for display.
