On April 14, the 2019 Beijing International Long-Distance Running Festival – Beijing Half Marathon came to a close. 20,000 runners from around the world participated in this year’s event. After fierce competition, Chinese athlete Liu Hongliang won the men's championship with a time of 1:05:24, while Ethiopian athlete Chernet Misganaw TAKELE claimed the women's title with a time of 1:12:21.

The Beijing International Long-Distance Running Festival – Beijing Half Marathon evolved from the Beijing Victory Cup City Race and has a history of 63 years. As a "gold-tier" event with a long history and significant international influence, the Beijing Half Marathon has always attracted widespread attention.

As the official and exclusive insurance provider for the 2019 Beijing Half Marathon, Generali China Life Insurance enthusiastically supported the event, upholding its spirit of “challenging oneself, surpassing limits, perseverance, and never giving up,” as well as the fitness-for-all philosophy it promotes. The company delivered high-level, secure event services for both the race and its participants.

In addition to on-course services, Generali China Life Insurance further upgraded its offerings at the sponsor service area near the finish line. Here, runners could enjoy services such as post-race muscle stretching, as well as receive scientific health consultations and advice at the Generali China Life Insurance booth.

Beyond using its brand strength to support runner health, Generali China Life Insurance also organized a 120-member “Generali Running Team” composed of company employees, prominent clients from the group insurance channel, and online-recruited running enthusiasts. They joined the event to cheer on the half marathon and Beijing, showcasing Generali China Life Insurance’s commitment to social responsibility and a positive, proactive spirit. It is reported that Generali China Life Insurance’s group insurance channel has long provided insurance services to numerous Fortune 500 companies in China, including BMW, Microsoft, HSBC, and Pfizer, earning consistent praise for its service quality and business standards.

Generali China Life Insurance’s two major shareholders are powerful and have consistently been enthusiastic about promoting the development of sports. As a leading Fortune 500 enterprise, China National Petroleum Corporation became a sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympics and Paralympics as early as 2008, forming an indelible bond with the sports community. In 2018, CNPC once again joined hands with the Olympic movement, announcing its status as a top partner for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

As a life insurance company jointly established by these two leading shareholders, Generali China Life Insurance’s sponsorship of sporting events is both a continuation of its shareholders’ corporate cultures and a way of fulfilling the social responsibilities of the insurance industry.

With 63 years of persistence and support for two consecutive editions, Generali China Life Insurance has once again delivered a satisfying performance. It is believed that in the future, while continuing to provide insurance coverage for events and participants, Generali China Life Insurance will also offer the public more professional services, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the joy of sports.
