Last updated 2026-11-08 — The Beijing stop will officially kick off on May 25, and in June, the event will once again take place in the Land of Abundance—Chengdu.
According to the organizing committee, following the successful conclusion of the Shanghai stop on April 27, the X-Mudder Mud Run (hereinafter referred to as “X-Mudder”) will arrive in the capital—Shunyi’s Lotus Mountain Ski Resort—on May 25. In addition to the classic race, a family-friendly kids’ race has been specially designed for holiday outings with families.

During an interview, Ms. Li, the race director of the X-Mudder Mud Run, stated: “Back in the summer of 2017, the Mud Run once electrified Lotus Mountain Ski Resort, attracting over 5,000 sports enthusiasts, professionals, and university students from Beijing and surrounding areas. Two years later, the event has been fully upgraded to the ‘X-Mudder Mud Run.’ We’re back with more exciting courses, brand-new obstacles, and great enthusiasm. We hope everyone can relive their memories here and enjoy an even higher-quality racing experience!”

The classic race is the most traditional event of the X-Mudder Mud Run, focusing mainly on fun and entertainment. The Beijing stop’s classic race covers a full 10 kilometers with 22 obstacles. “Previously, the classic race course ranged between 6 to 8 kilometers. This time, the organizing team made full use of the length of the Lotus Mountain Ski Resort course for planning, extending it to 10 kilometers and building 22 obstacles along the route according to the terrain. We want every participant to have fun, enjoy the experience to the fullest, come excited, and leave satisfied!” a staff member of the X-Mudder Mud Run organizing team told reporters. At the same time, according to the organizing team, the construction of the classic race obstacles is now mostly complete, and popular favorites such as the Golan Heights, Cassino Assault, and Trojan Wall will all appear on the Beijing stop course.

Another highlight of the Beijing stop of the X-Mudder Mud Run is the return of the kids’ race. The kids’ race course is 3 kilometers long with 10 obstacles. “The design of the kids’ race events aims to allow parents and children to tackle obstacles of varying difficulty levels together on the muddy track. Based on the principles of health, challenge, and growth, it fosters children’s courage to face the unknown, as well as the spirit of resilience, camaraderie, and mutual support like little soldiers!” Ms. Li said. It is reported that well-known sports families such as Ying Zhifei, founder of Feeke Sports, gymnastics world champion and founder of Le Champion Kids’ Fitness Training Fan Ye, and renowned Chinese cyclist Xing Yandong will be invited to attend this event.

The X-Mudder Mud Run has not only completed a comprehensive upgrade of the event but also introduced a “race points” system and upgraded the individual athlete development system—the “Honor System.”

Participants earn corresponding “race points” for each X-Mudder Mud Run they take part in and complete. Unlike the well-known UTMB race points, X-Mudder’s point calculation is considerably more complex: a single race completion score = 100 (bonus points) * obstacle coefficient * kilometer coefficient * time coefficient. With this points conversion, participants from different levels or cities can compare their “ability values” horizontally through race points. It is reported that all level participants in X-Mudder can earn corresponding race points by taking part in races, with the top 100 male and female finishers at each stop qualifying directly for the finals without a lottery draw, sharing a million-yuan prize pool composed of base awards provided by the organizing committee and a portion of the race registration fees.

According to the organizing committee, the purpose of establishing the X-Mudder Mud Run “Honor System” is to allow participants to earn promotions in titles through the reward and accumulation of “merit points,” enhancing each participant’s sense of honor and belonging, and encouraging them to continuously push their limits and grow together with the event. The Honor System is divided into four levels based on accumulated merit points: “Warrior,” “Non-commissioned Officer,” “Lieutenant,” and “Captain.” These four levels progress in sequence, and all registered X-Mudder members can achieve personal level promotions by earning merit points.

Requirements and corresponding privileges for each level title

Participants can accumulate merit points by actively participating in various stops and types of races throughout the year and striving for better rankings, as well as by taking part in online X-FIT challenges, the X-Intelligence Bureau, and offline training camps organized by X-Mudder Mud Run, thereby achieving growth within the system and receiving honors and material rewards set for the corresponding levels.

On May 25, the Beijing stop will officially begin, and in June, the event will once again take place in the Land of Abundance—Chengdu.
