“Poetic, Picturesque Zoige” 2019 Zoige Cultural Tourism (Chengdu) Promotion Event

        On May 27, the “Poetic, Picturesque Zoige” 2019 Zoige Tourism City Promotion Event arrived at Chengdu’s Kuanzhai Alley in the Land of Abundance. The event was jointly hosted by the CPC Zoige County Committee and the People’s Government of Zoige County, with the goal of promoting Zoige’s traditional folk and cultural heritage, and boosting the development of all-for-one tourism in Zoige. The event was livestreamed, allowing more Chengdu residents to experience the charm of Zoige.

         Zoige County is located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, resembling a dazzling emerald embedded on the northwestern border of Sichuan. It is hailed as “China’s Most Beautiful Alpine Wetland Grassland” and “Home of the Black-Necked Crane in China,” known as the “Oasis of the Northwestern Sichuan Plateau.” It is one of China’s three major wetlands and an important part of the Amdo Cultural Region, one of the three major Tibetan cultural zones.

        Zoige boasts a rich diversity of cultural, historical, and ecological tourism resources. With its high, refreshing skies and clean air, the grasslands are dotted with countless small lakes, while streams like vines weave through lakes of all sizes. The waters are crystal clear, fish visible, and tents scattered across the land like pearls, creating breathtaking scenery.

He encouraged visitors to personally experience the legendary warhorses of Emperor Qin Shi Huang—“Hequ Warhorses”—reminisce about the tales of King Gesar winning a horse race, and explore the relics of Gesar’s battles against “demons”!

        Zoige is home to the first of the Yellow River’s ninety-nine bends. The water flows clear and slowly, winding through the vast sea of grass, where cattle and sheep graze leisurely by the riverbanks. It’s hard to imagine this is the same Yellow River known for its rapid currents and muddy waters, creating Zoige’s picturesque natural scenery.

        During the promotion event, Yu Kaiyong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zoige County Committee and County Governor, was interviewed by Sichuan TV regarding Zoige’s 2019 tourism development plans and extended a warm invitation to guests from all walks of life to visit Zoige.

        The promotion event featured highly ethnic-flavored cultural performances for Chengdu residents, allowing both locals and visitors to Kuanzhai Alley to closely experience Zoige’s vibrant ethnic culture.

         At 4:30 PM, the “Poetic, Picturesque Zoige 2019 Zoige Cultural Tourism Integration Development Symposium” was held in Tongshun Hall of Jinhe Hotel, establishing a strong platform for tourism exchange and cooperation between the two regions. The meeting was chaired by Yong Ling, Deputy Director of the Zoige County Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism. During the symposium, scenic spots and hotels such as Huahu Scenic Area, First Bend of the Yellow River Scenic Area, Western Ranch Scenic Area, Zoige Rie Tribe Sika Deer Ecological Park, and Hetah Hot Springs were introduced. The Chengdu tourism enterprises invited showed great interest in Zoige’s scenic spots and tourism products. After close communication and discussion, several major travel agencies signed contracts on site. Over a hundred participants from Chengdu’s tourism industry and news media attended the event.
