Last updated 2026-11-08 — The century-old German outdoor brand DEUTER will reclaim its original China agency authorization starting July 1, 2019; the Chinese outdoor market will henceforth be managed by the group’s subsidiary, Silvano Leloir Outdoor Products (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

On June 30, the Rael Hotel Group held a press conference for the “Port Explorer Future Hotels” themed “Surprises Are Everywhere” at the Furong Huatian Grand Hotel in Changsha, marking the birth of Changsha’s first future hotel. At the event, reporters observed that the entire stage design had been transformed into cool, high-tech black technology: the red carpet was replaced by the currently popular VI laser lights; 3D-simulated footprints guided guests into the future world; service staff were replaced by intelligent robots, and the check-in wall became a QR code... Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Rael Hotel Group, told reporters: “This is just the tip of the iceberg. The mission of Port Explorer Future Hotels is to directly tackle market pain points, reconstruct a new business model for hotels, chainize independent hotel brands, and ignite the growth engine for the performance of globally scattered independent hotels. This is not just a technological innovation, but more importantly, an upgrade and transformation of the hotel industry.”

Guests attending this press conference included Wang Chaoxiang (department-level), Inspector of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism; Wang Hailing, Vice President of Tianjiu Incubation Group; Li Xuguang, President of the Hunan Provincial Tourism Hotel Association; Zhu Haibo, Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College at Central South University of Forestry and Technology; Zhou Xianghua, Deputy Director of the Hunan Academy of Building Research; and well-known Hunan comedy performers such as Tong Ming and Huang Rong from the Hunan Comedy Workshop. The event also attracted over 100 chairmen and general managers of renowned hotel groups in Hunan Province, including executives from well-known local hotel brands such as Huatian Grand Hotel, Tongcheng International Hotel, Yannian Hotel Group, Bolin Hotel Group, and Today Hotel Group. This was a grand gathering for the hotel industry and a summit for traditional independent hotels to explore innovative development.

The press conference kicked off with a human-screen interactive technology dance performed by dance artists that electrified the audience. The mysterious veil of Port Explorer Future Hotels was unveiled with the screening of the promotional video “A Hotel That Surprises You,” showcasing entirely new guest experiences: before checking in, guests can use VR to view rooms in panoramic view, simplifying the cumbersome reservation process; upon arrival, facial recognition check-in allows for mood-based voice control of room lighting; automatic visitor recognition upon returning from shopping eliminates concerns about safety risks during the stay; any need can be handled by robot butlers; and a single smartphone can handle all tasks such as invoicing and check-out with one click...

Wang Chaoxiang of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism emphasized in his speech: Small and medium-sized independent hotels are market fragments overlooked by the entire tourism industry. The market size of small and medium-sized independent hotels in China is nearly one trillion yuan, yet these hotels generally face significant survival pressures. Port Explorer Future Hotels, through technological innovation and management model upgrades, not only provides a driving force for the breakthrough development of independent hotels but also offers consumers a more intelligent accommodation experience. “The reshuffling of traditional hotels is inevitable.”

Wang Chaoxiang (department-level) of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism delivered an important speech. Mr. Liu Haibin, President of the Rael Hotel Group, gave a keynote speech titled “The Sharing Economy Under the Franchise Model – Port Explorer Empowering Independent Hotels,” analyzing the four major pain points leading to the decline of independent hotels based on data from the overall hotel supply situation in 2018: low occupancy rates, insufficient premium pricing, single customer sources, and limited development. Port Explorer Future Hotels tackle each of these pain points of traditional independent hotels with a new sharing model of chain branding + black technology products + smart butlers, empowering independent hotels. The hotel owners present applauded in recognition of the high value of the presentation.

Key guests jointly took the stage for the launch ceremony of this press conference. Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Rael Hotel Group, along with partners of Tianjiu Group and specially invited guests, officially launched Port Explorer Future Hotels on a laser projection screen, illuminating a new world of future technology. Immediately afterward, the event kicked off an interactive lucky draw that thrilled the audience, with eighteen lucky guests winning Port Explorer Future Hotels experience vouchers to try out the AI-powered hotel in advance. Another activity, the recruitment of 999 free experience officers, brought even more surprises to the attendees. It is understood that the 999 free experience officer recruitment campaign will begin in July, recruiting through offline experience sign-ups and online lucky draws, targeting enterprises and institutions, sleep trial officers, and KOLs with millions of followers, offering free stays in smart guest rooms.
