On the morning of August 20, the 2019 Summer Rural Cultural Tourism Festival in Liling City grandly opened at the Junzishan Ecological and Cultural Scenic Area in Junchu Town.

Themed “Come to Jun, go to Jun — no need to travel far,” this rural cultural tourism festival was held at the Junzishan Ecological and Cultural Scenic Area in Junchu Town. The event ran until September 20 and featured seven major activities: the opening ceremony, an invited photography exhibition, a food carnival, planting a wishing tree, the Junzishan Fishing Competition, the first Liling Peasant Swing Bridge PK Competition, and lotus viewing. It also introduced a variety of distinctive rural tourism experiences with strong local flavor in western Liling, including eco-drifting, reservoir fishing, rustic homestays, and viral swing bridges. These activities connected lesser-known attractions such as Junzishan, Zhoubang Reservoir, and the Liling Lotus Base into a single appealing route, presenting visitors with the pristine natural beauty, unique local cuisine, and distinctive folk culture of the beautiful Junchu area.

On the opening day, the finals of the first Liling Peasant Swing Bridge PK Competition were held with great excitement at the Junzishan Scenic Area. After more than two hours of intense competition, the team representing Majialong Village claimed the championship, becoming the brightest “star” on the swing bridge.

In recent years, leveraging the opportunity to establish itself as a national all-for-one tourism demonstration zone, Liling has organized seasonal rural cultural tourism festivals each year based on the unique resources of its various towns and townships. These festivals have introduced a range of rural tourism products, boosted local economic development, and are helping to shape Liling into a happy destination where “you can see the mountains and rivers and feel the warmth of home.”
