But as someone who’s used to traveling all over, I’m full of experience and didn’t hesitate to book a cruise on the Spectrum of the Seas. It turned out my choice was spot on. During our few days on the Spectrum of the Seas, our family enjoyed the most delightful parent-child time.

The appearance of the Spectrum of the Seas first captivated me.300At over40meters in length andmeters in width, the Spectrum of the Seas resembles a giant dragon slicing through the waves. The ship is fully equipped with swimming pools, cabins, restaurants, and entertainment facilities—there’s something for both adults and children to enjoy. The wide deck is lined with rows of lounge chairs. After having enough fun in the pool, you can lean back on a lounger, stretch lazily, with a glass of iced

cinder ordered from a crew member by your side. With the gentle sea breeze and warm sunlight, taking a sip instantly brings indescribable comfort. The kids are laughing and playing nearby, and you can’t help but sigh, “Now this is what a real vacation feels like!”

A cruise ship that brings together cuisines from around the world.

A cruise trip can last anywhere from a few days to over ten days. Drifting at sea for so long, without good food, even the most exciting activities might feel a bit dull. Of course, that’s not a problem on the Spectrum of the Seas, because the food on board is simply too! much!. You could eat something different every day, and by the time you leave, you’ll probably regret not having tried every single restaurant.

ChuanGu HuiAs someone from northern China, I have a special love for spicy food, especially Sichuan cuisine. So on the Spectrum of the Seas, the restaurant that suited my taste the best was ChuanGu Hui. The decor of this restaurant is very traditional Chinese—red for festivity, brown for stability—it’s clearly an authentic Chinese eatery. As the only genuine Sichuan cuisine restaurant on the Spectrum of the Seas, its dishes won me over with their bold spiciness and rich aroma. Summer still enjoyed the non-spicy dishes with great relish. Our whole family specially booked a family private room, and every meal we had there was incredibly satisfying.

TeppanyakiTeppanyaki is one of my favorite Japanese dishes. The teppanyaki restaurant on the Spectrum of the Seas gave me both a visual and culinary treat.Tender, juicy grilled meat and sizzling fried rice

cooked on the iron grill, filling the air with mouthwatering aromas. The chef’s amazing cooking performance also captivated the children—they couldn’t stop watching and even clapped along with the adults, which was absolutely adorable.

HaiHan Hot Pot270Located next to the Sail Buffet Restaurant, HaiHan Hot Pot offers a

degree unobstructed view of the sea. As someone who lives for hot pot, how could I miss this place? With options for both large and small hot pots, plus a huge variety of vegetables, fruits, desserts, seafood, and more—just thinking about it makes my mouth water even now.

Coffee & Tea House

This Coffee & Tea House on the Royal Promenade, fourth floor, is absolutely perfect for chatting over tea with friends. Add a dessert, and I could gossip with my girlfriends here for a whole afternoon.

Main Dining Room3―4The upgraded Main Dining Room is the gem among all the restaurants, located on the2000for simultaneous dining. The main dining room offers two different menus each day, featuring both Western and Chinese cuisines. I ordered a T-bone steak cooked medium-rare, and when I cut into it, I could see a hint of bright red inside. The perfectly grilled steak successfully combined the tenderness of the filet mignon with the chewiness of the sirloin. Sails Buffet

Sails Buffet is an iconic restaurant on the Spectrum of the Seas, located on the14deck. As a buffet, it not only offers a variety of Chinese and Western dishes but also a wide selection of desserts, beverages, and more—as if several restaurants had been brought together in one place. There were many dishes worth trying, and at the time, I truly wished I had a bigger appetite to enjoy all the delicious food.

Sorrento’s Restaurant

Sorrento’s Restaurant is another complimentary dining option on the ship, specializing mainly in American-style pizza. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you’re enveloped by the rich aroma of pizza—it’s hard to drag yourself away. Variousfreshly bakedofpizzas come inthin and thick crusts.Classic sausage flavor, sweet and tangy Hawaiian flavor,richcheese flavor,zestyspicy sausage flavor,and more cater to the tastes of both adults and children. As apizza lover,I certainly couldn’t miss out here—I really ate to my heart’s content.

AquaDuck Restaurant

The AquaDuck Restaurant is a paradise for kids. As the name suggests, this restaurant, located on the14deck, is right next to the children’s water play area. The colorful, whimsical tables and chairs catch the children’s eyes. The restaurant’s meals are kid-focused, with chefs using their skillful hands and professional knowledge to prepare nutritious and delicious dishes. The kids enjoy their meals, and as parents, we feel at ease.

For family travelers, the accommodation environment is a top concern, as it directly affects the mood of the trip. When traveling alone, you might not mind too much, but when traveling with kids, you definitely can’t be careless. Spectrum of the Seas offers2000a wide range of guest rooms and cabin types to choose from.

For this cruise, I specifically chose a balcony stateroom because I absolutely love the warm feeling of sunlight streaming into the room. The cabins on the Spectrum are truly impressive—I’m not exaggerating, they have a uniquely refreshing vibe. The rooms aren’t large, but the layout is neat, very clean and cozy, meeting the standards of a five-star hotel. After freshening up, I’d lie down on the big bed, and the soft mattress felt like it was embracing me. My favorite part of the room is the balcony—small but equipped with two lounge chairs and a small table. Lounging here in the sun is the ultimate comfort. Every morning, I’d wake up to the sunlight pouring in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the whole room. It felt like the day’s good mood started right then. And the stability was nothing like what I’d imagined before—it was as steady as sleeping on land.

I love standing on the deck, feeling the sea breeze, listening to the cries of seagulls, and quietly watching the sunrise and sunset. Doing this every day, the beautiful ocean scenery never gets old.

The cruise ship playground—a paradise for kids

If your cruise experience is limited to just enjoying the sea breeze and sunbathing by the pool, that would be a bit dull. I was amazed by the sheer variety of entertainment facilities on the Spectrum of the Seas. This cruise ship actually has a real playground.

Antarctic Sphere

The Antarctic Sphere is located at the stern of the ship, directly opposite the North Star. The four trampolines inside offer me a fantastic journey through the Earth's core. On these four trampolines, you can experience three exciting games: Robot Rally, Candy Jump Race, and Bass Bodyguard. Put onVR goggles, bounce and flip on the trampolines, and feel the sensation of free-falling from the North Pole to the South Pole in an instant of weightlessness — my heart was practically jumping out of my chest!

Tips: Since you need to wear leg straps for bouncing on the trampolines, it’s recommended to wear long pants.

North Star

After the thrilling experience in the Antarctic Sphere, my legs were still trembling, but I couldn’t wait to check out the North Star. The North Star is the highest viewing spot on the entire cruise ship and one of the two major highlights of the Spectrum, offering360a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire ship and the ocean surface — you definitely have to try it!

Tips: The North Star is extremely popular, so as you can imagine, there are usually long lines. It’s recommended to go in the morning or during lunchtime when it’s less crowded.

Laser Tag

Laser Tag is a bit like playing real-lifepaintball or laser combat — a favorite among kids. As soon as you enter the arena, it feels like stepping into a futuristic world, with dim lighting and green lights creating a high-tech atmosphere. Inflatable dividers ensure kids can safely “battle” inside. The whole venue is like a maze, where children dressed in cool “space gear” use laser guns to engage in an “epic battle” between aliens and robots. They’re laughing, shouting, and having the time of their lives — it’s absolutely delightful to watch.
