Every year when golden autumn arrives in October, Kaifeng becomes the focus of global attention. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the nation, Qingming Riverside Park has launched an ambitious plan, debuting a brand-new, eye-catching experience!
Highlight 1: The “Giant Chinese Horse” Debuts During the National Day Golden Week, Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Nation!
The Giant Chinese Horse was jointly developed by Kaifeng Qingming Riverside Park Co., Ltd. and Dalian Wooden Ox and Flowing Horse Robot Co., Ltd. It represents three years of dedication by experts from both China and abroad, refined through over 3,000 design drawings, and has won 30 patents. It is a large-scale, domestically developed, high-tech parade performance robotic horse with full independent intellectual property rights. In July 2019, the “Giant Chinese Horse” made its debut at the Davos Forum, stunning the world. In September 2019, this “mythical creature” finally returned home to Qingming Riverside Park amid great anticipation, amazing the nation.
The Giant Chinese Horse is a reconstruction and fusion of traditional culture and high technology. Its design concept is inspired by China’s national treasure, the “Tri-Colored Glazed Pottery Horse of the Tang Dynasty,” and the “Wooden Ox and Flowing Horse” invented by Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period. The heavy wooden exterior and the partially exposed mechanical structure inside are cleverly combined to create an artistic aesthetic that is both classical and modern. By reconstructing and integrating high-tech elements with traditional Chinese culture, and adding details such as metal, leather, solid wood, and colored glaze, it presents an appearance that is classic and profound, yet also showcases industrial elements of steampunk without losing the charm of Chinese style.
The Giant Chinese Horse stands 8.4 meters tall, is 9 meters long, and with the carriage reaches 14.5 meters. It weighs 47 tons. Its most prominent feature is its mechanical core, with over 98 moving joints that vividly replicate the horse’s robust physique and spirited demeanor. It can simulate various biomimetic movements including the horse’s mouth, lips, tongue, nose, eyes, ears, neck, abdominal breathing, tail swaying, limb walking, leaping, and bowing. With flexible joints and a majestic form, it appears as if a heavenly steed has descended to earth.
The Giant Chinese Horse breaks away from the traditional mode of simple mechanical horse performance imitation. It can interact with audiences by opening its mouth, sticking out its tongue, blinking, swaying its ears, spraying mist, and making sounds. It features special effects such as neighing, smoke emission, fire spraying, and water mist spraying, behaving like a living, gigantic mythical beast that interacts with visitors.
The Giant Chinese Horse integrates multiple elements such as traditional Chinese acrobatics, traditional dance, special effects fireworks performances, stage lighting, and stage effects. During the National Day Golden Week, it will officially premiere as a grand tribute to the 70th anniversary of the nation. With cutting-edge black technology, it will redefine your sensory experience!
