[January 8, 2020, Beijing]On January 8, Dolomiti, in partnership with Finnish Winter Sports Consulting, successfully held the “2020 Dolomiti Global Brand Launch and China-Finland Sports (Education) Integration Development Forum” at the Garden Hall of CHAO Hotel Sanlitun in Beijing. Attendees included Wang Biao, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhangjiakou Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Chongli District Committee, Lin Xianpeng, professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Sport University and vice dean of the Management College, snowboarding world champion Guo Dandan, Jarno Syrjala, Finnish Ambassador to China, Hannakaisa Andersson, trade and economic counselor at the Finnish Embassy in China, and Jussi Rapo, CEO of Finnish Winter Sports Consulting. These guests gathered to witness the pivotal moment of Dolomiti signing agreements with two major Finnish sports bodies and to engage in deep discussions on sports education cooperation.

Finnish Sports Education in China
At the launch event, Jussi Rapo noted that China-Finland sports relations have a long history, from Finland inviting China to participate in the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics to the recent “China-Finland Winter Sports Year.” Sports have always been a witness and driver of friendship between the two countries. Though small in size, Finland has long been a leader in education. The launch of this China-Finland skiing cooperation project aims to empower the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and respond to the national goal of getting 300 million people involved in winter sports. As a training base, Dolomiti will introduce the Finnish training system. It will collaborate with the Vuokatti Olympic Training Center on high-level ski competitions and training programs, providing athletes and coaches with state-of-the-art facilities and expert coaching. In addition, Dolomiti will partner with the Kesäkallio Sports Institute on mass-level skiing events and training, implementing the “Moving School” education program for children, teenagers, and beginners in China. The collaboration also includes bringing 150 professional expert-level instructors from Finland to train a dedicated team of Dolomiti ski coaches.

At the China-Finland Sports (Education) Integration Development Forum, Jussi Rapo, Harri Hollo (international development and marketing director of the Kesäkallio Sports Institute), Professor Lin Xianpeng, Shen Fei (an expert in Winter Olympics training), Zhang Yuan (president of Zhengzhou University’s Physical Education College), Xi Yi (professor at Shenzhen University’s Physical Education College), Lin Ling (professor at Ningbo University’s Physical Education College in Zhejiang), Fan Yongmei (deputy director of the Anhui Sports Institute office), Xiong Wei (deputy director of the Hubei Social Sports Activities Center), Song Xu (president of the Sports Science College at Hefei Normal University), Du Tao (deputy director of the Development and Training Department at Shandong Sport University), and Yu Yin (director of the Sports Training College at Wuhan Sport University)—along with nearly 20 other guests from domestic sports colleges and universities—joined industry elites such as Dai Xuyang (vice general manager of AH Joy Koala Sports Science Development Company), Xiong Haojun (from the Wuhan Chukou Sports Park National Fitness Center), and Wang Zheng (from Beijing Shi’ao Bojin Sports Technology Co., Ltd.). They were joined by leaders from the event organizer: Ge Yanan (COO of Dolomiti Group), Chen Peng (general manager of Dolomiti Ski Resort), Cui Yajie (principal of Dolomiti Ski School), and Zou Hantao (head of the training department at Dolomiti Ski School). The group discussed three main topics: “How to Promote Skiing During the Olympic Opportunity,” “Learning from Foreign Mature Models to Help Establish China’s Ski Teaching System,” and “Exploring Innovative Forms of Joint China-Finland Ski Education Programs.” The forum started with a discussion on the strategic cooperation between Dolomiti and the two Finnish sports institutes. All participants agreed that the meeting marked a strong start for deeper integration of Finnish winter sports and China’s sports education, with plans to continue exploring more extensive, in-depth, and detailed collaborations.

The collaboration between Dolomiti and the two leading Finnish sports institutions would not have been possible without the foundational role of the Dolomiti Outdoor Sports Academy. Comprising four key segments—winter sports, outdoor activities, adventure training, and youth camps—the academy is focused on providing sports skill training for people of all ages. By partnering with professional sports organizations and introducing advanced teaching systems, the academy not only caters to the public’s interest in outdoor sports but also helps elevate professional athletes’ skills to international standards.
