Tiemu Waterfall and Xiayun Village Ecological Pond boast unfathomably blue-green waters, recommended as hidden gems by locals. Walking across the bamboo bridge spanning the pond, the dreamy water colors created by wild water plants such as ginger lilies, cattails, hydrocotyle vulgaris, and pennywort, along with microorganisms, are simply mesmerizing.

Dongyan Mountain Forest Recreation Area is located at the tail end of the Snow Mountain Range. From a distance, the shape of the mountain resembles a reclining maiden gazing eastward with wide eyes, hence its name. The entire recreation area spans nearly 1,000 hectares and features the spectacular sight of over 300 hectares of cedar tree sea. From the mountaintop, you can enjoy the continuous surrounding mountain views, overlook Taoyuan, Sanxia, and the Tamsui River, making it also a great spot for viewing the night scenery of Taoyuan.

Taiwan’s largest Xucuo Port Wetland, which has waterfronts, fish ponds, and green tunnels, serves as an important habitat and stopover for migratory birds traveling south and north each year. Originally an abandoned military camp, Xucuo Port has become an optimal place for migratory birds due to its well-developed river systems and favorable estuary terrain. Covering 961 hectares and stretching 10.5 kilometers in length, it attracts large crowds who come to watch flocks of birds foraging and resting here, creating a serene ecological landscape painting.

Caota Sand Dunes are located along the coast of Guanyin in Taoyuan, stretching 8 kilometers. The fine, soft sand forms wavy patterns under the breeze, and its desolate beauty makes you feel like you’re in Morocco. Walking barefoot on the slightly warm, soft sand gives you the surreal and romantic feeling of stepping into another world, like a scene from a movie.
