In recent years, environmental issues and awareness have gained significant attention. Kaohsiung, one of the world's top ten port cities, has collaborated with the "New Elephant Event Promotion Center" and "Hanya Design" to invite the renowned American architectural design team "StudioKCA" to create a large-scale art exhibition. Among them, the spectacular "Love River · Love Whale" has made a grand debut as a new check-in landmark.

The international-level large-scale art exhibit "Love River · Love Whale," created by artist Jason Klimoski, will be displayed during the 2020 Kaohsiung Lantern Festival Art Season. It is made from everyday recyclable resources collected through the public "You Throw, I Pick" campaign, aiming to raise awareness about the ecological pollution caused by marine waste.
The Love Whale officially opened on January 21 and will remain open for visits until March 31.
This "Love River · Love Whale" was specially designed for Kaohsiung. Its massive body extends 15 meters above the water surface, with a horizontal diameter also reaching 15 meters. The installation is created using waste materials collected locally in Kaohsiung. It is expected to be completed on January 15, 2020, officially open on January 21, and remain open for visits until March 31.
The Love Whale holds deep environmental significance, being made from waste materials and calling for public attention to ecological pollution issues.
During the event period, in conjunction with the Kaohsiung Lantern Festival Art Season from January 29 to February 9, the "Love River · Love Whale" will be displayed on the south side of Qixian Bridge on Kaohsiung’s Love River (in front of Lide Baseball Stadium).
