National mourning for the Black Hawk military aircraft crash incident has begun. A fellow soldier actively campaigned and asked netizens to leave messages for Taipei 101, urging the building to display condolences and remembrance for the armed forces. Taipei 101 adopted this suggestion and urgently displayed three messages in tribute to the fallen soldiers.

The three messages displayed on Taipei 101 were “In Memory of the Chief of General Staff and the Armed Forces,” “All Taiwanese Are Your Family,” and “Thank You for Protecting Our Home All Your Lives.”
According to the Military News Agency, this was initiated by Navy Lieutenant Colonel Liu Jiazhi on Facebook on the day of the incident, January 2, and quickly received a response from Taipei 101.
Taipei 101’s exterior often expresses solidarity with the public during major events in Taiwan and leads the voice of the people. This time, it also mourned together with the nation over the Black Hawk helicopter crash, voicing the feelings of many Taiwanese and moving many to both sorrow and gratitude. These three messages were displayed in special lighting between 7 and 9 p.m.
