An ROC Air Force UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter crashed on the 2nd, resulting in the deaths of eight senior military officers, including Chief of the General Staff Shen Yi-ming. However, the Black Hawk helicopters remain committed to their duties, carrying out rescue operations. On the 4th, one was deployed to the mountainous region of Hualien to transport a hiker suffering from altitude sickness, successfully delivering him to the hospital.
At 10:49 AM on the 4th, a unit under the Air Force’s 4th Tactical Fighter Wing received a rescue order and dispatched a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter from Chiayi Base to the mountainous area of Hualien to carry out a rescue mission for a male hiker experiencing altitude sickness. The Black Hawk arrived at the target area at 11:39 AM, landed in the mountains at 11:48 AM to conduct the rescue, and touched down at Chiayi Base at 12:22 PM to transfer the hiker to the hospital for treatment, successfully completing the mission.
According to a press release from the Air Force, the armed forces remain committed to serving and protecting the people. Despite setbacks, they maintain a 24/7 presence and continue executing various rescue missions to defend the nation and safeguard its citizens.
