Taiwan High Speed Rail's total ridership is about to hit 600 million trips. To show appreciation, the company has launched the “600 Million Rides, Double the Joy” celebration campaign. From now until January 31, 2020, travelers can visit the THSR event website to guess which station the 600 millionth passenger will board from – and you could win a free standard-class ticket!

To thank passengers, the 600 millionth traveler will receive an “All-Year Unlimited Ride Pass,” allowing unlimited rides across all routes on Taiwan High Speed Rail for a whole year. The passengers who booked tickets right before and after (the 599,999,999th and 600,000,001st passengers) will get a “THSR Holidays Business Class Free Travel for Two” package, while the passengers booked just before and after those (the 599,999,998th and 600,000,002nd passengers) will receive a “THSR Holidays Business Class Rich Travel for Two” package.
The 600 millionth passenger gets an all-you-can-ride annual pass on THSR.
There are three ways to win tickets in the “600 Million Rides, Double the Joy” celebration campaign. First: Before the 600 millionth passenger boards, guess which station they’ll get on at for a chance to win one standard-class free ride voucher – 66 vouchers in total. Second: Play the miniChallenge game on the campaign website. Choose a character, run and collect THSR-exclusive items to score points – the highest scorer wins one standard-class free ride voucher (50 available). Third: Simply share this campaign on Facebook for a chance to win one of 300 half-price standard-class ride vouchers!

According to THSR statistics, since beginning operations on January 5, 2007, the railway has sold over 594.74 million tickets to date. It’s expected that cumulative sales will surpass the 600 million mark in mid-January 2020. Travelers hoping to become the 600 millionth passenger on Taiwan High Speed Rail should keep an eye on the timing and try their luck by taking a ride.

As of the end of November 2019, Taiwan High Speed Rail averaged 183,000 passengers per day, an increase of about 5.6% compared to the same period last year. After the 600 millionth passenger is identified, THSR will post related information on the “Ticket Number Prize Redemption Area” of the “600 Million Rides, Double the Joy” campaign website, and the “Winners List” for the draw will be announced on February 7. Travelers are advised to check the campaign website for updates and contact THSR to claim their prizes.
