Long regarded as a major highlight in the department store scene in the fourth quarter of 2019, Far Eastern XinYi A13 was originally slated to open in late October to coincide with the anniversary sales season. After several changes, it is now confirmed to open on December 25, 2019. Many storefronts have already appeared in subway car advertisements, and now it has finally unveiled its true colors.

Far Eastern XinYi A13 is the 11th branch of the Far Eastern Department Store system. It has not previously entered the Xinyi District. This time, as Far Eastern A13, it is positioned as a “fifth-generation smart mall.” In the densely populated Xinyi District, following Vie Show Cinemas Nanshan, Far Eastern A13 becomes the 14th department store shopping mall in the area.

The most eye-catching feature is the Taiwan-themed space highlighting local characteristics and rich traditional flavors, designed with the Dadaocheng Food Street concept (on the 4th floor). Well-known Taiwanese or Chinese-style culinary brands such as Din Tai Fung, 1010 Hunan, Springwater Tang, Zhu Ji, Shih Fang Cha tea shop, and TKK (Ding Guagua) x American Kung Fu Tea have moved in.

Also exclusive talking points are Taiwan’s first officially licensed LEGO flagship store (on the 3rd floor), and MUVIE, a high-end brand under the VieShow Cinemas system offering premium experiences (on the 10th to 13th floors).

The dining section is also a key battleground for department stores today — only brands with strong appeal can attract customers. These include Din Tai Fung (on the 1st–2nd floors), and “Ah Mei Restaurant,” a well-known Tainan eatery, making its first appearance in a department store (on the 14th floor). To cater to moviegoers in the evening, the 14th floor also houses late-opening food brands such as Fleuriste Wine & Tea Bistro, Xin Ma La, Very Thai, and LOBSTERFOODS & STEAK.
