EasyCard Corporation has launched the electronic payment service “EasyPay,” which not only supports barcode and QR code payments, money transfers, and collections, but also allows users to tap their phones via NFC to ride public transport in Taipei and New Taipei, including the Taipei Metro, buses, YouBike, and the Danhai Light Rail.

Currently, “EasyPay” requires the Easy Wallet app and is still in the trial operation planning phase, with an official launch expected in the first quarter of 2020. The initial phase invites relevant partners and publicly recruits 500 “Easy Pioneers” to take part in the trial, testing eight major functions including game points, convenience store and supermarket purchases, micro-store consumption, water bill payments, parking fee payments, auto top-up, money transfers and withdrawals, and the Taipei Card.

“EasyPay” offers four innovative features: QR code payment and collection, online payments, and money transfers. By linking your EasyCard to “EasyPay,” you can enable automatic top-ups and manage your card information. You can also apply for a virtual Taipei Card membership, pay Taipei City water bills, medical fees at Taipei City Hospital, and parking fees through “EasyPay.” Additionally, you can tap your phone to ride public transport — including Taipei and New Taipei MRT, buses, YouBike, and Danhai Light Rail — making your commute as easy as a simple “beep.”

After its official launch, “EasyPay” plans to gradually expand to cover national transportation payment services.
