In response to the "National Fitness Program Outline" issued by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and to promote an active and healthy sports culture, the Huayang Scenic Area in Yang County, Hanzhong, Shaanxi, is taking the lead in adopting a sports marketing model to showcase the unique culture of the scenic area. On April 22, the 2012 Yang County First "Huayang Cup" Mountain Bike Orienteering Challenge will be held in Huayang Ancient Town.

This event is organized by the Xi'an Wolf Orienteering Club, co-organized by the Wolf Auto Club and the Rangers Bicycle Club, and enjoys strong support from the People's Government of Yang County and the Management Committee of Changqing Huayang Scenic Area. It has also attracted active participation from cycling enthusiasts, promising to be a comprehensive sports tourism event integrating sports competitions, camping, self-driving, gourmet food, and entertainment.
It is understood that the competition will adopt a team format, consisting of preliminary and final rounds, featuring two events: mountain bike hill climb and mountain bike orienteering. The preliminary round uses a points system, with separate scoring for the mountain bike hill climb and mountain bike orienteering segments. The first place earns 1 point, the second place 2 points, and so on. The scores from both segments are combined, and the twelve teams with the lowest cumulative scores will compete in the final round in Huayang Ancient Town on April 22.
