Taipei Astronomical Museum announced that starting at 12:33 p.m. on December 26th, the partial solar eclipse will be visible across Taiwan, with about 40% of the sun’s surface covered by the moon, offering a glimpse of the obscuration.
Viewing times will vary by geographic location. In Taipei, the eclipse begins at 12:44 p.m., reaches maximum coverage at 2:14 p.m., and ends at 3:32 p.m., lasting nearly three hours in total—something to look forward to.
During the observation period, special attention is advised regarding safety measures and the proper use of solar filters. Under no circumstances should you look directly at the sun without any protective gear. It is recommended to view the eclipse using a pinhole projection method.
