The 2019 LOVE Kaohsiung Light Festival debuted brilliantly at Kaohsiung Central Park on December 6th.

On display is the main light installation “Anooki X Light Christmas Tree,” designed by French Parisian artists Moetu Batlle and David Passegand, themed around LOVE Kaohsiung. This large-scale event combines local business districts, interactive technology, international art, and family entertainment. The “2019 LOVE Kaohsiung Light Festival” runs from December 6, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
Illusionary Light Maze
The LOVE-themed main light installation “Anooki X Light Christmas Tree” was created by Parisian artists Les Anooki. These two 5-meter-tall balloon art installations depict a boy and girl from the North and South Poles, traveling the world to raise awareness about melting ice caps. Paired with Taiwan’s tallest 120-meter Light Christmas Tree that reaches the sky, the installation not only conveys environmental sustainability but also creates a romantic and blessing-filled atmosphere—kissing under the Light Christmas Tree is as magical as kissing under mistletoe.

The event features eight illuminated zones: “Anooki X Light Christmas Tree,” “Wishing Light Tree,” “City Light Flow,” “Sea? Light? Space,” “Acre of Light Shade,” “Illusionary Light Maze,” and “CHILL ZONE.” There are 28 spectacular light shows daily, each lasting between 3 to 8 minutes, combining light and shadow effects with interactive technology for an amazing audiovisual experience.
Sea. Light. Space.
Visitors can sit under the trees in “Acre of Light Shade,” surrounded by the ethereal music of Bai An, gazing up at the twinkling stars above, immersing themselves in a magical ambiance. They can also stroll to “Sea? Light? Space,” where music and light intermingle to guide them into a colorful fantasy realm. Couples can hold hands at the “Wishing Light Tree” to collect luck, wealth, or love, projecting their moments of happiness onto the tree branches in front of the camera. Every corner of the Light Festival holds unique surprises.
