The Japanese matcha dessert specialty shop “Ichiba Matcha Café” is creating a white Christmas vibe by offering its adorable Christmas-branded “White Matcha Chocolate Daifuku” from now until December 25; the “White Christmas Matcha Sundae” replaces the usual mochi pearls with coconut-coated almond tofu, resembling a snowy dessert.

Other desserts such as Christmas tree ice cream with gingerbread cookies, Christmas gift bags, Christmas seal gift boxes, and Christmas cookies make the holidays even more matcha-flavored too. In addition, each branch has different promotional offers to celebrate the arrival of the winter holiday season.

Christmas-branded “White Matcha Chocolate Daifuku”
The adorable and colorful “White Matcha Chocolate Daifuku” is priced at NT$58 each. With its white outer shell, the chewy texture resembles mochi, and it’s filled with matcha custard and Valrhona dark chocolate. One bite releases a wonderful taste. The impressions of Santa Claus, snowmen, Christmas trees, and snowflakes are very cute and endearing.

The “White Christmas Matcha Sundae” is priced at NT$168 per cup and includes about ten rich ingredients: cranberry jelly, whipped cream, matcha financiers, matcha jelly, coconut-coated almond tofu, fresh strawberries, matcha ice cream, powdered sugar, gingerbread cookies (available in two flavors: matcha or soybean powder, chosen at random by the store), and matcha honey. In addition to the white ingredients—coconut-coated almond tofu and whipped cream—which are very eye-catching, the combination with winter fruits like strawberries gives the sundae a refreshing sour-sweet taste that isn’t overly sweet.

The Christmas Tree Ice Cream is NT$118 per cone. Its wide-bottomed, pointed-top matcha ice cream looks naturally like a tree, and it's decorated with a drizzle of matcha honey like a ribbon on a Christmas tree, accompanied by gingerbread cookies in either matcha or soybean powder flavor (chosen at random by the store).
