First, let us briefly introduceOkinawa’s Iriomote Island. This place is rich in natural resources, with 90% of the island covered by subtropical jungles and mangrove swamps. Famous attractions include the PINAISARA Waterfall and Star Sand Beach, and at night you can admire the vast starry sky. When shooting the Milky Way, timing and location are crucial. But being a skilled photographer means taking action to increase those chances. Iriomote Island in Ishigaki, Japan, due to its geographical location, is free from light pollution and has very high air quality, making it a world-class stargazing spot. However, the island’s transportation is not very convenient, so one must plan carefully to capture a photo like this of the Milky Way. This is why I chose this photo, although I believe the composition could have done a bit more with the foreground.
