From Japan’s No. 1 popular drugstore chain “Matsumoto Kiyoshi,” its seventh store in Taiwan opened on November 14th, located in the Big City Far Eastern Mega Mall in Hsinchu.

The Hsinchu No. 1 Store is Taiwan’s first Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore focused on daily necessities. Since expanding out of Taipei in September this year by opening the Taichung No. 1 Store in the Taichung First Senior High School commercial area, the brand has been well-received by students and young consumers.
Hsinchu Mega City No. 7 Store Opens to Continuous Crowds
In October, in collaboration with Taiwan High Speed Rail, Matsumoto Kiyoshi opened its first convenience-style drugstore in Taiwan at Taoyuan HSR Station, which has been favored by tourists and commuters. This November sees another expansion, this time creating a department-store-style daily necessity and drugstore format mainly targeting residents.
Opening Draws Large Crowds
According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, Hsinchu City has had the highest population growth rate in Taiwan for six consecutive years (2014–2019). With confidence in the city’s consumer power and its birth rate consistently ranking among the top three nationwide, the Hsinchu No. 1 Store has set up its first maternity, baby, and child zone. It offers everything from pregnancy-related products to infant and toddler goods, meeting the needs of families shopping for all ages.

The Big City Far Eastern Mega Mall is a large shopping center located in East District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan, and has become the go-to one-stop shopping destination for all age groups in Hsinchu.
