After the Michelin Guide came to Taiwan and launched the “Taipei Michelin Guide” in 2018, it drew numerous food enthusiasts to Taipei in search of Michelin-starred dining. The Michelin Guide has now officially announced that the 2020 edition will for the first time span both Taipei and Taichung, bringing together the culinary appeal of both cities under the “Michelin Guide Taipei?Taichung.”

Following in the footsteps of global cities like Paris, New York, and Tokyo, Taipei becomes the 31st city to have a Michelin Guide. The recommended and starred restaurants and chefs there have also significantly boosted their fame and prestige.
In addition to the original “Taipei Michelin Guide,” Michelin also has high expectations for “Taichung,” which boasts a diverse food culture.
Taichung shows remarkable creativity in its culinary scene, particularly with its popular local specialties. For example, the renowned Fengjia Night Market area has around 1,800 stalls and shops, offering a wide array of Taiwanese cuisines and many memorable local dishes. In 2020, the “Michelin Guide Taipei?Taichung” will introduce Taiwan’s distinctive food and dining culture to the world.
