On April 3, the National Hiking Day, organized by the Beijing Daily Hiking Sports Center and sponsored by RAX, the “No. 1 micro-outdoor brand in China,” was held with great enthusiasm in regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Zhaoxing, Chengdu, Changchun, and Dalian. As the sixth consecutive National Hiking Day and coinciding with the Qingming holiday, the event attracted a total of 1,200 participants from various regions, marking another milestone for the National Hiking Day.
The birth of National Hiking Day came amid China’s ongoing urbanization process — in today’s society, more and more people are living under high pressure and fast-paced conditions. Fragmented leisure time has made traditional “planned” travel increasingly incompatible with the general rhythm of modern life and work. Schedules are constantly compromised by work, while physical health continues to decline. To improve this situation and advocate for national hiking fitness, the Beijing Daily Hiking Sports Center, together with the “No. 1 micro-outdoor brand in China” RAX, has fully ushered in the era of “mass sports.” With concrete actions, they issued a hiking initiative to citizens nationwide — adopting “Hike for Ten Years, Stay Healthy Together” as the slogan for the sixth National Hiking Day, and calling for the designation of the second Saturday of April each year as "China Hiking Day." They aim to promote a healthy and green lifestyle, mobilize the public to engage in fitness activities, and advocate for environmental protection.
The enthusiasm of the event indeed proved the public’s recognition of its philosophy and their desire to get outside. Just in Beijing alone, 800 participants joined, bringing the national total to 1,200. “Actually, both short and long trips are a way to relax the mind. This event made me realize that hiking can also be a journey for the soul — that’s the true essence of travel,” said one participant.
RAX stated: “‘Live light’ is our brand philosophy. From the early days of establishing the brand, we deeply understood the modern urbanite’s longing for nature and the desire to live light ( light). That’s how ‘light travel, micro-outdoor’ came about — it’s the healthy lifestyle that RAX has always advocated. And hiking is one of the most common forms of micro-outdoor activity. Partnering with the Beijing Daily Hiking Sports Center to launch the sixth National Hiking Day is a significant move by RAX to issue a hiking initiative to the public, advocating for national fitness through hiking, environmental sustainability, and promoting a light and natural way of life.”
