The Magnificent Qinghai – A Cycling Paradise.
Recently, multiple websites including NetEase China, the Travel Channel of China.com.cn, Bicycle Network, Beijing Traffic Radio Network, the Travel Channel of Phoenix Online, and the Travel Channel of Shenzhen News Network published an illustrated online post titled “The Eight Most Scenic Cycling Paradises in China in Spring.” Qinghai Lake was named one of China’s eight most beautiful cycling paradises.
In recent years, various domestic newspapers, magazines, and online media have awarded Qinghai Lake numerous accolades through diverse selection events. In October 2005, it was ranked first among “China’s Top Five Most Beautiful Lakes” by Chinese National Geography magazine; in 2006, the Global Travel News, in collaboration with 31 national urban newspapers, selected Qinghai Lake as one of “50 Places in China Most Worth Visiting for Foreigners”; in 2011, it ranked 12th on the list of the Most Popular Travel Destinations, being the only attraction from Qinghai Province to make the list. In the same year, Qinghai Lake won the title of “Champion” among China’s Top Ten Most Beautiful Lakes with the reputation of “A Supreme Sacred Land, a Heavenly Lake on Earth,” and was featured in the book China’s Most Beautiful Tourist Destinations. It was also listed as one of the 30 Most Worth-Visiting Places in China in the “2012 Travel Plan.” Such titles as “China’s Most Beautiful Lake,” “A Paradise for Travelers,” and “Stunning Beyond Expectation” have showered Qinghai Lake with radiant acclaim, continuously attracting visitors from all over. This latest recognition as one of China’s eight most beautiful cycling paradises further highlights Qinghai Lake’s esteemed status among travelers. This selection was based on comprehensive criteria such as cycling difficulty, physical demands, and scenic value. Other winners of this honor include Beijing’s Baihe Canyon, Hangzhou’s West Lake, the Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Trail, Hainan, Sayram Lake, Kanas, and the Sichuan-Tibet section of National Highway 318.
