On March 10, 2012, Zhang Jingwei, General Manager of Gore’s Beijing branch and Marketing Director for the Textile Business in China, visited the Beijing Traffic Radio FM103.9 program "Journey." During the live broadcast, Ms. Zhang gave a comprehensive explanation of the ongoing sixth "Gore-Tex Outdoor Dreams Realization Activity."

Host: First, could you tell us how Gore helps outdoor enthusiasts realize their dreams?
Ms. Zhang: "Realizing Outdoor Dreams"—in short, it means "Do you want to go outdoors? Do you want to explore mountains and rivers? Do you want to experience different outdoor emotions? Gore will help you." Submit your itinerary, destination, and any historical or cultural elements you’d like to share along the way as a proposal online, and ultimately Gore will help you get out into the outdoors.
Host: Can everyone participate in this activity?
Ms. Zhang: Yes, absolutely. This activity isn’t just for professionals. In fact, it’s aimed at all outdoor enthusiasts—those who have outdoor dreams. Depending on your own situation, you can realize your outdoor aspirations through the Professional Mountaineering Group, the Hiking & Trekking Group, the Outdoor Travel Group, or the Extraordinary Outdoor Group.
Host: Does one need to join as an individual or as a team?
Ms. Zhang: We do not limit it to individuals or teams. Because when it comes to the outdoors, everyone has different feelings and ideas.
Host: How can we realize our dreams through this activity?
Ms. Zhang: By signing up and competing via the official Gore activity website, or also through the Sina sub-site, the Lvyeyou sub-site, the 8264 sub-site, the Sanfo Outdoor sub-site, the "Image & Vision" sub-site, the NetEase sub-site, the 517 sub-site, the Biao Network–Shenge Northeast sub-site, the Yuantuo Outdoor sub-site, and the Ku6 sub-site to submit your travel plan.
Host: What if my proposed plan isn’t selected? Does that mean my outdoor dream is shattered?
Ms. Zhang: Not at all. This year, Gore will continue its cross-industry collaboration with the car brand Subaru, launching the "Subaru Special Route." In addition to the four annual champions, one participating team overall will also receive a Subaru Forester SUV, travel funds, and equipment support from Gore and Subaru.
During the interview, Ms. Zhang also shared the benefits outdoor sports have brought her: "Experiencing the outdoors will make your body healthier—everyone is a good example, including myself. In the six years I’ve worked at the company, I’ve felt my health improving, and my mental outlook has changed a lot."

Zhang Yongqiang, the 2010 champion team member, and this year’s participant Zhang Qiming also appeared on the "Journey" program on April 10 to offer tips and encouragement to "dreamers" for better participation. "When writing your proposal, be thorough and detailed—don’t overlook even the smallest detail, and make sure your emergency plan is well prepared. It would be even better if you can incorporate a public welfare element," Zhang Yongqiang shared from his own experience.
On May 15, the "Journey" program also invited Hongxing, the overall judge of this year’s activity, and Han Gang, the March Hiking & Trekking Group Monthly Champion, to look forward together to the announcement of the annual champion.
It is reported that the submission deadline for proposals is the end of May. As long as you have an outdoor dream, you can participate in the activity through any of the above channels, join Gore on the dream-seeking journey, and plant the flag of your dreams across the land. Meanwhile, the race for the annual champion has entered its final sprint stage, which means the competition for monthly champions will become even more intense. A battle "fought for dreams" will bring more suspense to the selection of the annual champion.
