On August 11, 2012, the third day of the 3rd China RV Camping Conference began. At 9:00 AM, a special event of the 3rd China RV Camping Conference — an RV parade themed “Join Hands with Us to Cheer for China’s Olympic Athletes” — was officially launched.

At 9:30 AM, the owners of the 35 RVs participating in the parade shouted the slogan “Go Beijing – Power Up the Olympics!” before driving their vehicles one after another from the Beijing RV Expo Center, commencing an RV parade around Beijing that would pass by iconic landmarks such as Tiananmen Square, the CCTV Tower, and the Bird’s Nest. This parade aimed to let more people see real RVs firsthand, realize the convenience of RV living, promote the outdoor leisure lifestyle philosophy of “the scenery changes, but home stays the same,” further popularize RV camping life in China, and deepen its influence across the nation.

For this parade, 35 RVs from all over China formed a convoy, starting from the Beijing RV Expo Center in Fangshan District, Beijing, and driving around the Second Ring Road of Beijing. Along the way, they passed by landmark structures such as Tiananmen Square, the China Central Broadcasting Station, the CCTV Tower, and the Bird’s Nest, with plans to return to the campsite by 12:00 PM. Unlike previous parades, this year’s event saw the Beijing International RV Camping Exhibition Model Contest and the Asian Auto Model Contest organizing committee joining forces with all campers to cheer for China’s Olympic team and support the development of China’s RV industry. Finalists of the model contest also set off with the RVs to make final preparations for the evening’s finals.

At 8:30 AM, the parade RVs gathered at the main entrance of the Beijing RV Expo Center, forming a neat and imposing formation that resembled a winding dragon stretching for miles, ready to soar into the sky. At 9:30 AM, at the signal from the commander-in-chief, the convoy officially set off toward the Second Ring Road. The vibrant and spectacular atmosphere at the scene moved both visitors attending the exhibition and passersby, prompting many vehicles to stop and watch. Everyone was visibly excited: “We’ve seen RVs before, one at a time, and found them quite novel. But seeing so many RVs together in a convoy, setting off on the road — it’s truly thrilling. It makes you want to join them!”

This event is one of the featured activities of the 2012 3rd China RV Camping Conference. Other activities include the China RV Camping Conference Salon, the Colorful Night Camping Gala, RV equipment test drives, and the Buzhou Mountain Fishing Competition. Lasting four days, the conference aims to provide RV owners and camping enthusiasts from across the country with a centralized opportunity for exchange, entertainment, and vacation.

Let’s all wish the parade a successful and smooth event, and the RV camping industry in China continued prosperity and growth!
