The "Green Mountain Action" — a large-scale outdoor environmental initiative organized by Orion Outdoor Theme Shopping Mall in collaboration with Green Field Network — is a major environmental protection campaign centered around Beijing and its surrounding areas. Starting from April 2012, Orion has partnered with Green Field to mobilize outdoor enthusiasts through monthly ongoing activities aimed at clearing litter left along hiking trails around Beijing, protecting the environment, and restoring the natural beauty of the green mountains.
The "Green Mountain Action" aims to "clear the trash and restore the green mountains to their original state." Green Mountains = Clean Mountains, symbolizing environmental protection and harmony with nature. We hope that friends who enjoy outdoor activities will enhance their environmental awareness while engaging in outdoor pursuits, live in harmony with nature, and preserve the beauty around them.
Although Beijing in August had entered autumn, the muggy weather still brought a thin layer of mist to the mountains. Team members skillfully carried the iconic blue eco-bags of the "Green Mountain Action" and picked up trash along the mountain trails. Participants ranged from elderly seniors to young children, and no one was left behind, all returning with full bags.
During the midday descent, some team members who chose the ridge route faced a steep slope, making the descent difficult and slow, and encountered a cliff blocking the path with unknown conditions ahead. Fortunately, under the guidance of the team leaders, members helped and supported each other and finally safely descended to the foot of the mountain.
So far, Orion’s "Green Mountain Action" has carried out five events, and each one has brought different experiences and insights. Participants not only got physical exercise but also significantly enhanced their environmental awareness in outdoor settings. The "Green Mountain Action" is a call for more outdoor enthusiasts to join our ranks and take action to "protect the environment and restore the green mountains to their original state."
