On September 20, about 180 well-known ski resort operators, equipment and gear brand representatives, ski club and travel agency leaders, as well as related media reporters gathered at the 2012-2013 Beijing Ski Industry Summit for a "Huashan Sword Meeting." They shared ski resort management expertise, discussed new changes in the ski market, and jointly explored how to achieve healthy development of China’s ski industry.
Organized by Outdoor Life magazine and co-hosted by Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort, the 2012-2013 Beijing Ski Industry Summit focused its discussions on ski resort operations, four-season management, and product upgrades. At the summit, He Ping, Chairman of Junshushan Ski Resort, delivered a speech titled "Quantitative Management of Ski Resorts"; Wang Xiaohu, General Manager of Funiu Mountain Ski Resort, spoke on "Exploring Four-Season Operations of Ski Resorts"; Wu Bin, General Manager of Beidahu Ski Resort, presented "Transitioning from Ski Resort to Holiday Village"; Peter from Orealski shared insights in "Recent Innovations in the International Ski Industry." Wanda Changbai Mountain Resort and Sichuan Xiling Snow Mountain Ski Resort shared their construction, operation status, and future development plans through video presentations. Shan Zhaojian, advisor to the Chinese Ski Association, also gave a speech.

In addition to keynote speeches, this year’s ski industry summit organized three special events — a dialogue between ski resorts and equipment suppliers, a product promotion session for Wanda Changbai Mountain Ski Resort, and an exhibition of ski resort equipment and gear. Distinctive displays by companies (and brands) such as Meizhishi, NORDICA, Shuohuaji, Boma Jiasi, Dowomo Carpet, Burton, Snowfeet, and Xueyilan added a unique ski culture atmosphere to the forum.
Leaders from 41 ski resorts participated in this year’s forum, including those from Beijing Nanshan, Junshushan, Huabei, Yuyang, Wanlong Bayi, Qiaobo, Mudanjiang Ma’ershan, Jilin Beidahu, Wanda Changbai Mountain, Lianhua Mountain, Liaoning Baiqingzhai, Qipanshan, Guaipo, Xinjiang Silk Road, Inner Mongolia Meilin Valley, Hebei Miyuan Yunding, Yulongwan, Shandong Jinshan, Henan Funiu Mountain, Hubei Shennongjia, Sichuan Xiling Snow Mountain, and Zhejiang Damingshan. Relevant department leaders such as Tong Lixin, Deputy Director of the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Tian Changbo, Chairman of the Beijing Sports and Leisure Industry Association, also attended and addressed the forum.
This year’s Beijing Ski Industry Summit received strong support from Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort and companies (and brands) such as Meizhishi, NORDICA, Shuohuaji, Boma Jiasi, Dowomo Carpet, Burton, Snowfeet, and Xueyilan.
