On December 8th, Beijing, which had just entered the Major Snow solar term, experienced a sudden drop in temperature accompanied by strong winds. Though the sun was shining, the biting winter wind still made people shiver. Although the scheduled meeting time was 9:00 AM at Deshengmen, Team Leader Kaile was already waiting at the gathering point by 8:00 AM.

Perhaps due to the extreme cold, by the time they reached the mountaintop, apart from the Green Mountain participants, no one else was in sight. But enthusiasm remained high — those with better stamina had already filled large bags with trash during the climb, while others who were less physically fit, upon seeing their nearly empty bags compared to others, didn’t even take a break before continuing to collect garbage.

The mountain winds were fierce, so the team didn’t linger long at the top before heading back down. Taking a group photo was essential, but more importantly, it was crucial to take all the trash they generated back down the mountain — otherwise, picking up and then discarding would render the whole effort pointless.
The goal of the Green Mountain Action is to promote environmental awareness and protect nature. As long as everyone takes the trash they and those around them generate during outdoor activities down the mountain, we can make the outdoors a little more beautiful and the skies a little bluer. Small actions yield big results. Let future generations enjoy cleaner mountains and clearer waters too！

The ninth stop of the Green Mountains Action was a complete success thanks to the joint efforts of all the hiking enthusiasts. Looking back at the vast Mangshan Mountain filled me with great satisfaction. Although one person’s strength is limited, when many small contributions come together, they can form a powerful force. We hope that the “Green Mountains Action” can inspire more people to take action, making the sky bluer and the mountains greener. Of course, it would be best if everyone avoids littering while out and about—please dispose of any waste you bring in trash bins, so that future “Green Mountains Actions” will no longer have to deal with any garbage at all！
