From September 12 to October 15, 2012, under the full sponsorship of SympaTex and JEEP XP, over 30 outdoor enthusiasts, led by the Ultimate Tibet Driving Forum, completed the "6th Season of the Great Tibetan Crossing" event.
The gathering point was set in Xining, Qinghai. Entering Tibet via the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, the team arrived in Lhasa and then drove clockwise along the Ali Loop, passing by Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse Dzong on the way to Everest Base Camp. From there, they headed west to explore the magical Tsada Clay Forest and the ancient Guge Kingdom, completed the sacred kora ritual at Mount Kailash, and crossed the uninhabited northern Tibet region from Shiquanhe eastward, speeding through the vast and lonely wilderness alongside wild asses and Tibetan antelopes. After returning to Lhasa from Namtso Lake, they exited Tibet via the Sichuan-Tibet Highway and completed the entire journey in Chengdu.
