With White Valentine’s Day just around the corner, besides dining out or giving gifts, would you like to offer your partner something even more special? Why not take advantage of the weekend holiday on March 13–14 to visit Little Liuqiu Island? Aside from experiencing the warm climate of southern Taiwan, you can follow a Love Treasure Map step-by-step — and might even bring home a diamond worth tens of thousands of dollars as a prize.
In 2010, the islands of southern Taiwan were filled with a romantic and enchanting atmosphere. Since the launch of the “2010 Happiness & True Love on Little Liuqiu Island” event by the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration, it has sparked widespread discussion and attracted many couples planning to marry, who came to Little Liuqiu to shoot their wedding photos and honeymoon there. On the eve of White Valentine’s Day, Little Liuqiu had already been “booked” by 12 couples. The administration specially organized the “Romantic Bike Treasure Hunt, ‘Diamond’ Your Way to Her Heart” event on March 13. In addition to the engaged couples, five other pairs of lovers were also invited to join in the fun, cycling around the island to hunt for treasure and enjoy the romantic Valentine’s vibe.
The Little Liuqiu Romantic Bike Treasure Hunt event includes arrangements for couples to take photos on the island, ride “happiness bikes,” and sign a “Love Contract.” With the witnessing of the public, they create a record of their Little Liuqiu wedding photos and honeymoon year, while also leaving behind the most genuine and joyful memories of their love. Couples will bike to popular wedding photo spots on Little Liuqiu, including visiting the Floral Vase Rock to see the island’s treasured landmark, strolling on the white sands of Clamshell Bay Beach, walking nature trails to experience a taste of the tropics, admiring boats and coral reefs at White Lighthouse, viewing peculiar rocks at Zhuzhugou Gorge, and chasing waves on Zhong’ao Beach.
A holiday plaza event was also held with great enthusiasm at Baisha Tourist Harbor. The program featured a romantic music performance, a bridal fashion show, and romantic mini-games for couples such as “Kiss My Love” and “Loving Hug,” filling the venue with a sweet and romantic atmosphere. To complement the “2010 Happiness & True Love on Little Liuqiu Island” campaign, local businesses on the island have launched a special “2769 Love to Liuqiu Happy 2-Day Tour” package. Couples or lovers visiting Little Liuqiu on weekdays can travel there for just 2,769 NTD per couple. The package includes a ride on the Love Boat to Little Liuqiu, staying in a romantic double room, enjoying special local cuisine, and cycling around the island.
Currently, a Little Liuqiu Wedding Photo Spot Voting Campaign is also underway. On March 22, the “Love Puff Message” activity will begin — simply leave a sweet message for your loved one and you could win great prizes such as luggage worth tens of thousands of NTD or a makeup set.
