Zhongshan Ancient Town, commonly known as Sanhechang, is also called Longdongchang. It is located in the mountainous southern part of Jiangjin City, about [distance missing] kilometers from downtown Chongqing—approximately a one-and-a-half-hour drive—and is connected to the national scenic area of Simian Mountain. The ancient town sits against the mountain and faces the water, with its buildings constructed along the river. It is formed by three small streets: Longdong, Huangzhongba, and Gaoshengqiao. In the past, Sanhechang was a bustling riverside wharf and a distribution hub for goods in the mountainous regions of Sichuan and Guizhou. Currently, there are still [number missing] characters of inscriptions from the Southern Song Dynasty, recording an event where Li Jiyong, Yu Zixian, and others went boating and sightseeing. The area also contains ancient Han Dynasty tombs at the Pipa Rock Tomb Cluster.125kilometers, about an hour and a half’s drive, connected geographically to the national scenic area of Simian Mountain. On the way to the “Ladder of Love,” we heard from locals that only off-road vehicles can make the trip—the road is impassable for other types of vehicles.
