The police stated that the four hikers, surnamed Liao, were fortunate to have neither suffered from hypothermia nor sustained any injuries. They were then escorted down the mountain by officers. After trekking through rugged terrain, they safely arrived at Lujia Police Station at around 2:30 a.m.
The hikers said that all four of them had set out from the Jiashe Mountain trailhead at 8 a.m. on Father’s Day, heading toward Hakani Mountain. After reaching the summit, they continued on a traverse toward Jiashe Mountain.
They explained that around 5:30 p.m., due to unclear trail signs, unfamiliar terrain, and mistakenly following the wrong direction on a signpost, they became disoriented in the makeshift water collection area of Luchang Tribe along the route to Hakani Mountain.
At around 11:20 p.m., they called police emergency number 110 for help. Fortunately, officers from Toufen Police, the local fire station, and rescue teams arrived promptly and assisted them in descending the mountain. The four hikers expressed deep gratitude to the police and rescue units for their help, which enabled them to escape danger and get down the mountain safely.
