D-A-D, short for "Disneyland After Dark," is a famous Danish hard rock band. Their first album, *Call of the Wild*, was officially released in 1986. Their breakout hit was the 1989 album *No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims*, which was released on the band’s fifth anniversary. The success of this album brought the band immense influence, leading them to sign with the major label Warner Bros. for a million-dollar deal and expand into the U.S. market.
Over their nearly 30-year career, the band has released 11 official albums, three of which topped the charts in Denmark. They headlined the prestigious Roskilde Festival in Denmark in 1989. Since 1991, they have been popular stars on MTV. Their 1989 album *Sympatico* won the Danish Grammy Award for "Best Danish Album of the Year." On New Year's Eve 1999, they performed for an audience of 50,000 at Copenhagen’s City Hall Square. Their 2000 album *Everything Glows* earned four awards at the Danish Music Awards.
As the After Party for the 2013 Beijing Midi Festival at China Music Valley, the event on April 30th at Yugong Yishan is not only a celebration night for Danish friends in Beijing but also a chance for Chinese audiences to witness classic performances. If rock guitars and sexy beats get your heart racing, come raise a glass and celebrate with us. These Danish veterans’ sense of humor will surprise you, and another highlight of the show is the special guest performance by Finnish melodic metal stars AMORAL. Having grown up listening to D-A-D, they are both musical and geographical neighbors to these rock icons, and they’ll be honored to open the show for their idols.
