The "Xinshe Flower Sea Festival" enters its sixth year this time, with the event taking place from October 16 (Saturday) to November 7 (Sunday) of the year 99, spanning four weekends and totaling 23 days.
The 2010 "Xinshe Flower Sea – Live Happily in 99" event began on October 16 and 17 at the Second Nursery of the Seed Improvement and Propagation Station. This year’s theme centers on a “lively flower sea,” built upon the foundation of “quality production, happy life, and ecological care.” It integrates local resources from six mountain-sea-Tun townships to jointly promote the development of leisure agriculture and local economy in the central mountainous region. On the opening days of October 16 and 17, special daytime colored smoke fireworks will be launched, painting the sky with brilliant hues and creating a stunning 3D spectacle of flower seas extending into the horizon as a breathtaking opening. Both days feature performances by popular and idol singers: October 16 includes Zhang Xiuqing, Annie Yi, and the JinDouYun Band; October 17 features COLOR and Hsiao Hung-jen, along with a singing and dancing show by YOYO Family artists and a flower sea concert by the Lohas Band.
The organizing body, the Seed Improvement and Propagation Station, stated that this year’s focus is on a “lively flower sea,” grounded in “quality production, happy life, and ecological care,” while integrating local resources from six mountain-sea-Tun townships to jointly boost the development of leisure agriculture and the local economy in the central mountainous region. In addition to the 30-hectare flower sea landscape, the flower sea exhibition area also features five major themed pavilions.
Council of Agriculture Minister Chen Wu-hsiung noted that this year’s planning core is the “lively flower sea,” linking policies of “rural regeneration” and “climate change energy saving and carbon reduction.” With “ecological balance, rural life, and quality production” as the three main planning axes, the event utilizes displays in various themed pavilions, designs agricultural leisure experience areas, and continues to plan travel package itineraries. It implements the core spirit of “excellence, health, and lohas” for sustainable agricultural development, thereby bringing the public closer, allowing them to experience diverse agricultural leisure activities, and bringing these experiences into their daily lives.
