A resident of New Taipei City reportedly fell into a valley while climbing Lu Mountain in the Yushan mountain range. Early this morning, the Kaohsiung City Fire Department received a report that the hiker was suspected to have no vital signs, prompting a request for helicopter rescue and airlift into the mountains. The individual has now been transported to Tainan but is confirmed to have no signs of life.
The Sixth Disaster Relief and Rescue Brigade of the Kaohsiung City Fire Department stated that upon receiving news of the hiker’s fall in Lu Mountain, rescue personnel immediately assembled on standby, preparing to enter the mountains for a search and rescue operation this morning.
The Sixth Disaster Relief and Rescue Brigade of the Kaohsiung City Fire Department said they received a report from the Yushan National Park Administration indicating that the hiker had been found near Sancha Peak and was suspected to have no vital signs. Rescue personnel requested helicopter support to assist in entering the mountains for rescue and airlift. The individual has been taken to Tainan Airport for transfer to a hospital but is confirmed to have no signs of life.
