The Nepalese government stated that at least six Nepali climbers died in an avalanche while ascending Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, with around nine others reported missing and several more injured.
At around 6 a.m. local time, the climbers were hit by an avalanche at an altitude of approximately 5,800 meters, with some of the missing believed to be buried under the snow.
