A pair of hikers were trekking along the Batongguan Trail in the Yushan National Park when a man surnamed Huang reportedly slipped and sustained injuries this afternoon, possibly due to rain. Police and firefighters have been deployed for the rescue and are currently escorting him down the mountain.
According to the Yushan Branch of Nantou County Fire Department, the hiker surnamed Huang was near Guangaoping on the Batongguan Trail in Yushan National Park, Xinyi Township, around 1:40 p.m. when he is believed to have slipped on the wet path, injuring his head and legs. Responding officers and firefighters formed a rescue team and reached the injured hiker, who is not in life-threatening condition, and are now escorting him down the mountain for medical treatment. 1030531
