According to China News Service, in Foshan, Guangdong, at around 1:00 p.m. today (November 30), a man was found lying dead on the hiking trail at Zijin Park in Longshan, Shunde. Eyewitnesses said the man and his female companion were beaten to death by two other men during the hike, while the woman was forcibly taken away. The Shunde police have since launched an investigation.
“The woman didn’t shout for help, and we couldn’t hear what they were saying. It seemed strange, but no one dared to step in and help,” said Mr. Zeng, who witnessed the woman being taken away. Shortly after the motorcycle started and drove off, an elderly man came running down the hiking trail and told people, “There’s a man who’s been beaten to death by two other men up there, and the woman with him was dragged away.”
Hearing this, everyone immediately ran up the trail and found a man wearing a light yellow shirt and black pants lying face down on the ground, foaming at the mouth, with his face congested and purple. He was already dead. Mr. Zeng said regretfully, “If that woman had shouted for help, we would’ve rushed up and held those two men down right away.”
Chinese police are currently investigating the case, and the whereabouts of the woman remain unknown.
