At 11:39 AM today, the Hualien County Fire Department received a report stating that a hiker had fallen into a valley at the 2.7 to 2.8 km section of the Zhui Lu Ancient Trail in Xiulin Township. Rescue teams from police and fire services are currently en route to the site. Due to the remote location, it is estimated to take about two hours to reach the scene.
Rescue teams stated that the hiker who fell was accompanied by his son. After the incident, the son, who did not have a mobile phone, borrowed one from another hiker to make the report.
