The 2018 New Taipei City Hakka Tung Blossom Festival is about to begin. The Tucheng District Office will host the "Flowering Tung Trees Dance Like Snowflakes – A Journey to the Heavens" hiking event on May 6. The Tucheng District Office stated that the district offers convenient and well-maintained hiking trails for enjoying the tung blossoms and invites the public to take a leisurely stroll among the blooms. The hiking route for this event will start from Nantianmu Square, passing through the Fire and Water Spring Trail, Qingxi Trail, Tung Blossom Park, and Moon-Viewing Pavilion before reaching the Sky Mountain Moon-Viewing Pavilion. The trail then follows the Firefly-Watching Path back to Nantianmu Square, covering a total distance of approximately 3 kilometers and taking about 2 hours. Participants can collect a stamp card upon check-in on the day of the event, with a stamping station located at the Sky Mountain Moon-Viewing Pavilion. Completing the course allows participants to redeem a special event souvenir with their stamp card.
The Tucheng District Office stated that, in consideration of event safety and to confirm registration order, the hiking event will be available exclusively via online registration, with a limit of 500 participants and no on-site registration allowed on the day. The office also reminds the public that traffic control measures will be in place during the Tung Blossom Festival. Visitors can take the paid Tung Blossom Festival shuttle bus from Exit 3 of Yongning MRT Station.
