The Fourth Disaster Relief and Ambulance Brigade of the New Taipei City Fire Department chose today (the 9th) at 9 AM to hold the “First Half of 2018 Physical Training and Mountain Hiking Blessing Event for Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters, and Their Families.” Numerous firefighters, volunteers, and their families mobilized the whole family to enjoy the fun of hiking. They happily said, “The event allowed us to interact with each other and gain a lot!”
The event was attended by New Taipei City Fire Bureau Director Huang Deqing, the Volunteer Firefighter Corps, first-level executives of the fire department, and cadres from various levels of the volunteer firefighter units, with a total participation of up to 1,200 people. The hiking and blessing activity was organized to boost the morale of the firefighting, disaster relief, prevention, and rescue volunteer teams, as well as to build strong physical fitness. Through this event, not only was the concept of energy conservation and carbon reduction promoted, but dynamic leisure activities and exercise habits were also encouraged. Participants were also able to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.
The hiking location is situated on Xindian City’s famous tourist attraction—the west bank of Bitan and the HeMei Mountain Nature Trail. It features a loop trail divided into a water-friendly green line and a mountain-friendly blue line. With its complete mountain landscape and rich ecology, the area attracts insects, animals, and birds, forming a natural ecological paradise. It offers visitors a place for hiking and ecological observation, making it a very family-friendly mountain hiking trail.
Participants included firefighters, volunteer firefighters, their families, and local representatives. In addition to the hiking and blessing itinerary, there were also lucky draws, group meals, and lively song and dance performances. Through the interactions during the event, camaraderie among firefighters, disaster relief workers, prevention staff, and rescuers was strengthened. Thanks were given to the hardworking volunteer firefighters and their families, and recognition was expressed for their support of firefighting efforts and dedication to disaster response. Together, they help protect the safety of New Taipei citizens and make New Taipei a safe city.
