Wu Jiyun, a well-known “bikini hiker,” was climbing the Central Mountain Range alone when she fell about 20 meters into a valley on the afternoon of the 19th while passing through the section from Penjushan in Xinyi Township to Wushuangshe. Rescue personnel have swiftly launched a rescue operation. The woman revealed in an interview last year that she only wore a bikini at the summit because she lost a bet with a friend. Since then, she has taken bikini photos during her hikes and has changed about 97 sets over four years.
Wu Jiyun climbed the “Mabu Traverse” route in Yushan National Park alone on the 11th. While passing through the section from Penjushan in Xinyi Township to Wushuangshe, she fell 20 to 30 meters into a valley, became immobile in the lower body and injured in the upper body. She called her friend Yang for help, who then reported the incident to the fire department.
Wu Jiyun manages the Facebook page “G’s Alpine Footprints in Bikini,” which has more than 3,000 followers. She often changes into a bikini at summits and confidently shows off her hot figure. In December last year, she posted on Facebook that she had once slipped off a cliff and fallen several meters, expressing fear and saying, “I really feel like I’ve cheated death,” and “While climbing, I really hoped some miraculous rescue team would suddenly appear. One wrong step and I could’ve plunged straight down. When I called on the satellite phone, I cried for ten minutes — and it wasn’t fake crying.”
According to Formosa TV, Wu said in an interview last year that she had lost a bet with a friend and, as per their agreement, started wearing a bikini and taking summit photos after every climb. Over four years, she wore 97 different bikinis. After news of her fall broke, many hikers left messages on her Facebook page, sending positive energy and praying for her.
