A tropical depression originally located in Tokyo Bay developed into a mild typhoon in the early hours of the 3rd. Numbered as Typhoon No. 14, it has been named Kajiki. Its future path is moving closer to South China, currently posing no impact on Taiwan, but continued monitoring is required. There is also another tropical depression, TD20, which may develop into a typhoon in the future, possibly leading to a situation of three typhoons surrounding the region.

Mild Typhoon Kajiki is currently located 1,520 kilometers southwest of Eluanbi, moving slowly southeastward. The maximum wind speed near its center is 18 meters per second, equivalent to Force 8 winds, with gusts reaching up to 25 meters per second, equivalent to Force 10 winds. The radius of the 7-force storm winds extends to 80 kilometers. It is predicted to be 1,480 kilometers southwest of Eluanbi by the early hours of the 4th.
Affected by the outer circulation of Typhoon No. 13 Lingling, the maximum gusts at sea can reach Force 12; heightened vigilance is required.
During the day on the 3rd, there were localized brief showers in the eastern half of Taiwan and the Hengchun Peninsula, while other areas, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, experienced sunny and hot weather. In the afternoon, there were localized brief thunderstorms in central and southern regions and mountainous areas in the north. From tonight to the 4th, under the influence of the peripheral circulation of the typhoon, localized heavy rainfall is likely to occur. Tonight, the eastern half, southern regions, and Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu will see localized brief showers or thunderstorms.
The daytime weather is hot with excessive ultraviolet levels; sun protection is essential when going out.
Tomorrow, there will be brief showers or thunderstorms in the eastern half, northern, southern, and central mountainous areas, while other areas will be mostly cloudy. This afternoon, long waves are expected to occur along the eastern half, southern regions, Keelung’s northern coast, and Penghu. Carry rain gear just in case.
