Real Estate Brief – By Giant Construction: Travel with Sculptures

Following the "Travel with Design" program, to promote art urbanization, the Giant Construction–Lin Tseng-lien Charity Foundation once again hosted the "Travel with Sculpture" exhibition. The exhibition runs until February 28 this year, and the public can visit the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts to participate in this international art feast.

In collaboration with the BenQ Foundation, the event features seven internationally acclaimed stone sculptures selected from approximately 180 entries in the third "BenQ International Sculpture Camp." These works come from Romania—Panaite Chifu and Nicolae Rasvan Mincu; Bulgaria—Kamen Tanev; Japan—Yoshin Ogata and Hiroyuki Asano; Portugal—Mario Lopes; and Taiwanese master sculptor Tong-Liang Hsieh.

The opening ceremony took place on December 28, 2011, at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. Dignitaries including Taichung Deputy Mayor Xu Zhongxiong, Director of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts Huang Tsailang, Legislator Chen Xuesheng, BenQ Group Chairman Lee Kun-yao, and Asia University and China Medical University Chairman Tsai Chang-hai were among those attending to witness this rare international sculpture and cultural event.

To celebrate the "Travel with Sculpture" exhibition, the Giant Construction–Lin Tseng-lien Charity Foundation arranged a special modern dance performance on the day of the event. Dancers were seamlessly integrated into the sculptures; at first glance, they appeared to be part of the artworks. Dressed entirely in white, the dancers resembled moving sculptures, drawing amazed reactions from the audience.

Giant Construction integrates art into both the hardware and software of its architectural projects. For example, the massive font NOW&FOREVER installed at the "Daheng" site instantly became a trend in Taichung’s wedding industry. It has now been relocated to the intersection of Civic Boulevard North 3rd Road and Huilai Road, recently relaunched with a Christmas-themed land art installation that has become a new focal point for residents.

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts boasts a rich collection of artworks and over 40 outdoor sculptures. With the addition of the pieces from "Travel with Sculpture," the museum further enriches Taichung’s artistic and cultural atmosphere.
