Last updated 2026-09-25 — Xiao Hu had been eyeing this “Liu P'i_” across from Costco on Dashun Road for ages. Once, he invited Shari to dine there, but they happened to be closed that day XD It used to specialize in soup dumplings, but recently it’s been pushing its signature beef noodles hard. The menu has plenty of carb-loving options—so much so that Xiao Hu headed straight there on his first day back in Taiwan from Hong Kong. Although eating all the spicy, flavorful food abroad was fun... he still missed Taiwanese cuisine so much~~ And the prices are really affordable too.

Xiao Hu had been eyeing this “Liu P'i_” across from Costco on Dashun Road for ages. Although eating all the spicy, flavorful food abroad was fun.... he still missed Taiwanese cuisine so much~~ And the prices are really affordable ( ´•%%%ω•%%%` ) A hundred percent happy island paradise.

The beef noodles at Liu P'i_ are pretty good too. Half tendon, half meat, and the broth is homemade. We felt really satisfied after eating ^^ Also, the pickled side dishes are quite recommended~~ But the most exciting thing is that they offer free chilled drinks~~~ (Scream, please.) We heard from the staff that they’ve adjusted the restaurant’s concept and hope to serve even better food and let everyone enjoy their meals happily and without worries 0?%榨?j%撺?5)? If you’re already a noodle or beef noodle lover..... you should definitely give it a try. (You might even get to try specially made free soy milk occasionally.)

【Signature Beef Noodles】 NT$130 per bowl
Liu P'i_ especially recommends their beef noodle dishes. Since it was our first time trying them, we ordered the ones marked with stars (〃∀〃). The staff also kindly said the signature beef noodles were great~~ So we gave them a go. As soon as they were served, we could smell the aroma.... It was exactly that nostalgic, enticing flavor, which gave us both that bittersweet feeling of being back home after flying in from Hong Kong. % j % % j %

The beef itself has tendon, and it was braised for a long time~ It was quite tender and soft. The essence of the broth had also seeped right in XD

This is the gelatinous part that girls love~~ Wow wow. These tendon bits have very little fat and are super tempting. They’re chewy and springy, and Shari really liked them (%?j%冤 Girls trying the beef, don’t skip any of the tendon bits.... They’re super important.

The noodles are wider, pulled-style noodles, which happen to be Shari’s usual favorite—chewy and plump. What was even more surprising was that the wide noodles were well-seasoned too~~ (The worst thing about beef noodles is when everything separates.) But Xiao Hu only likes thin noodles, so only the refreshing broth really matched her taste %n(′~ 50)%m

We think it’s quite suitable for people who are already okay with the texture of pulled noodles. If you only like thin noodles, you’ll have to decide for yourself. Oh, and the saltiness of the broth is just right. Since it’s homemade, it’s rich in aroma yet not greasy, and it has layers of flavor ^^ It’s recommended to add some pickled vegetables too—that makes it even better.

【Side Pickles】
These are placed at the counter, so you can help yourselves and inform the staff to note it down. Recently, I’ve been having an eggplant craving.... After taking a bite, I realized they were quite thick. Turns out Liu P'i_ uses organic eggplants. Oh my gosh~~ It’s just a side dish, yet they picked organic veggies so carefully, that’s awesome (´"V%?j%撷V) There are other fresh side dishes on the counter too. Just order whatever you like when you’re at the shop.

【Soup Dumplings】 NT$70 per basket
This one is also marked with a star. We always love ordering the dishes the shop recommends XDD Soup dumplings are best eaten hot~~ Only then can you taste their wonderful flavor.

This basket looks pretty generous too, and paired with the signature beef noodles, it’s enough to fill you up. The staff said their soup dumplings have 18 folds. 18 folds. 18 folds. (Shocked)

Inside, there’s a rich burst of broth.... Almost made me drool XD The wrapper isn’t thick, but it has presence~~ Eating it plain is still pretty flavorful, with a basic level of saltiness.

Xiao Hu isn’t a big fan of meat in noodles, and this flavor might be a bit strong for her. But Shari thought it was great. When eaten hot, you can taste the sweet umami and unique aroma ^^ It’s recommended to dip them in a small dish of ginger-scallion soy sauce to enhance the flavor.

【Spicy & Sour Soup】 NT$40 per serving
Spicy & sour soup has always been a favorite of both Xiao Hu and Shari. We like it not too thick, with enough sourness, spiciness, and plenty of ingredients XDDD Liu P'i_ actually meets our needs~~ No need to add vinegar at all.

It’s not overly thickened, and there are plenty of ingredients.... Topped with scallions and pepper, it’s really zesty (%?j%冤 The soup-loving duo, Xiao Hu and Shari, slurped it all up in no time. (Not even leaving any leftovers for Shari = =) Anyone who loves spicy & sour soup like Xiao Hu and Shari can order it—it’s great for whetting your appetite in summer.

【Milk Custard Flowing Sand Buns】 NT$65 per basket
Milk custard flowing sand buns are also one of our favorites. We thought having a dessert after the meal would make us even happier, so we ordered them. We thought there’d only be two... but when we opened the lid, there were three big buns (´⊙ω⊙`)(´⊙ω⊙`) Our girly hearts started bouncing with excitement~~~ Hahaha

Whoa oh. It’s flowing sand. Rip it open while hot and it bursts with filling~~~ But it’s the kind with a denser texture and more filling, not like a waterfall pouring out XDD It’s relatively more solid in texture, and the filling is smooth and dense.

The sweet level of this steamed milk custard bun from Liu P'i_ is just right, and even Xiao Hu can handle it. The bun’s outer skin is elastic—we’ll definitely order it again next time!

[Free Drinks All You Can Drink]
Now Liu P'i_ offers free refreshing drinks for everyone to enjoy. On the day we went, they had black tea and soy milk~~ The staff said both were homemade ^^ Out of curiosity, we tried the soy milk and it was really good (the sweetness level was just right too)! Later, we DIY-ed by mixing the black tea with soy milk, and ended up with a brand-new drink lol

[Iced Plum Tea] NT$40 per pot
On a hot day, Xiao Hu wanted something sour and insisted on ordering a pot of plum juice... Seeing that it was also homemade by the shop, we agreed ( a° \?a°) Thankfully, it was really good!

Remember to shake it before drinking—the bottom has settled plum dregs. If you like sweet and sour flavors, go ahead and get a pot. The price is reasonable~ and it also whets your appetite after drinking.

The seating space is quite spacious, and the serving aunties are super friendly too. Seems like there are quite a few regulars dining here..... They must really like the food here :)

Currently, they have a promotion where extra noodles, extra soup, and cold drinks are all free ^^

After eating at Liu P'i_, both of us had pretty good impressions. The signature beef noodle is indeed the shop’s recommended dish—every bite is flavorful %薛omega;% and the broth has a nice depth, not overly salty either. Next time when you’re shopping at Costco, why not dine here? It’s quite a good deal. Try the spicy and sour soup too lol

Recommended for those who love noodle dishes and DIY-style beef noodle soups &a(*´∀`*) folks (*´∀`*)&a
